Tree Plantation Program 2023

A tree plantation program was held on 25th February 2023 at the university premises. It was organized to celebrate 150th anniversary of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). In order to celebrate the anniversary IET Sri Lanka Local Network decided to plant 150 different plants in Sri Lanka around the country. As a part of that community, IET On- Campus UR planted 20 different plants on the faculty premises.

The program aimed to promote environmental conservation and to leave a lasting impact on the campus community. The event involved the participation of students, faculty members, and staff, who worked together to plant a variety of tree species on campus. The trees were carefully selected based on their suitability to the local climate and soil conditions, as well as their potential to provide various ecological and aesthetic benefits. The event provided an opportunity for students and staff to connect with nature and learn about the importance of environmental conservation. The tree plantation program not only benefits the environment but also provides numerous social and economic benefits.

Overall, the tree plantation program organized by IET on campus UOR was a successful initiative that not only celebrated the institution's 150th anniversary but also contributed to the long-term sustainability of the campus community.
