INNOVISSION’23 Webinar 2

INNOVISSION’23 is an AI webinar series organized by the Institution of Engineering and Technology On Campus University of Ruhuna. Second webinar of INNOVISSION’23 was held on 12th of August 2023 from 6.30 pm onwards via the Zoom platform.

The session was conducted by Mr. Mazar Sayed who is a principal research assistant for BCI-based stroke motor rehabilitation, experienced in edge ML for Innovative Biomedical solutions and he is a final year undergraduate in BSC. ENG(Hons) in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Ruhuna.This webinar was focused on decoding the secrets of Machine Learning Algorithms and coding practice. At the beginning, Mr, Muzny Zuhair, the president of IET On Campus University of Ruhuna addressed the participants and welcomed the guest speaker Mr. Mazar Sayed.Then the guest speaker share his expertise on secrets of machine learning of algorithms with participants.Finally, the president thanked the guest speaker for conducting such an important webinar on behalf of IET On Campus University of Ruhuna.

The Young Woman Engineer of the year award ceremony is a biannual award competition conducted by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Young Professionals (YP) Sri Lanka Network to empower women in engineering and to appreciate their contribution and efforts. Being a woman and being an engineer is not a simple task. Therefore, the YWE award is an attempt to appreciate the young women engineers’ efforts and motivate them to dream high.

The Hands On Session on IOT systems design on local area network organized by the members of the IOT on going campus KDU, aiming to evaluate the knowledge of undergraduates about IOT systems design on local area network, was successfully held on 04th January 2023 at the Main IT Lab, KDU Southern Campus.

A tree plantation program was held on 25th February 2023 at the university premises. It was organized to celebrate 150th anniversary of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). In order to celebrate the anniversary IET Sri Lanka Local Network decided to plant 150 different plants in Sri Lanka around the country. As a part of that community, IET On- Campus UR planted 20 different plants on the faculty premises.
